Karl Willmann
Karl Willmann - President, Betz Commercial Brokerage, Inc.
Since starting his real estate career in Houston as a broker in 1982, Karl D. Willmann has been associated almost exclusively with The Betz Companies, working in various capacities. From the mid 1980’s to the mid 1990’s, he served as president of Raymond R. Betz interests, Inc., the Land Investment division of The Betz Companies. In this capacity, he worked with Ray Betz in acquiring numerous tracts of land as investments on behalf of various partnerships, while also managing the Betz portfolio of land partnerships. Willmann currently is the President of Betz Commercial Brokerage, Inc., a full service commercial real estate brokerage firm in Houston, where he also is a top producer as well. Willmann also served as President of U.S. Storage Rental Spaces, Inc., a Betz affiliate, where he directed the successful development, operation and sale of nine mini-storage investment properties.

Willmann’s primary focus is on the brokerage of land for commercial, institutional, residential and investment purposes. He has represented numerous individuals, developers, institutions and investors, as either buyer or seller’s agent. He is regularly one of the top producers for the brokerage division of BETZ, and has participated in the brokerage of more than $200M of real estate (almost exclusively land) sales transactions. Though brokerage is his primary focus, Willmann has also been involved in numerous real estate investments, as a general and a limited partner.

Willmann’s background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University as well as a Master’s degree in the Land Economics and Real Estate program at A&M. Willmann also spent two years as a commercial real estate appraiser.

Willmann currently serves as a director of the West Houston Association and the HAR Commercial Information Exchange (Commercial Gateway) and is a past director of The Houston and Texas Associations of Realtors. He is involved with numerous organizations including the Houston Real Estate Council, Houston Realty Breakfast Club, CCIM Gulf Coast Chapter, the Association of Texas Real Estate Professionals and is a life member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Willmann’s time out of the office is shared with his wife, Sandy, his son Korey, and daughters, Kristen and Isabella.
